The Local Area

Newbridge Country Park is ideally situated, tucked away against a backdrop of rolling Scottish hills yet a short drive from the main A74 road between Carlisle and Glasgow.

Around an hour’s drive will see you in either of Scotland’s two largest cities.  Spend a day amongst the bustle of Glasgow, with it’s abundant shopping and restaurants, or enjoy exploring beautiful, historic Edinburgh with it’s winding, cobbled streets and plentiful attractions.

Dumfries Farmers Market - On the first Sunday of every month Dumfries Town host a local producers market.  With everything from meats and game, sausages and pies, cheeses, eggs, fish, home grown vegetables and salads, breads, baking, desserts, ice creams and sorbets, jams and preserves, honey, chocolates, fudge, apple juice, cider, beer, wine and local crafts. Grey Mares Tail Dumfries

One of the UK’s largest waterfall plunges the grey mares tail is a 60m drop into the Moffat water valley. An area of outstanding natural beauty as must do visit when your staying in the Dumfries and Galloway Area. 

Breathtaking views extend out as far over to northumbria and the cumbrian lake district.  The grey mares tail is a fantastic spot for all levels of wildlife enthusiasts

Robert Burns Home
